Ono’s Traditional Hawaiian Cuisine-Taste the Aloha in Shreveport

Traditional Hawaiian Cuisine in Shreveport? Yep that is CORRECT!  A new food truck has rolled up on Shreveport’s street eats scene and they are about to kick the door off the hinges.

Ono'so Traditional Hawaiian Cuisine

Ono’s Traditional Hawaiian Cuisine will make its debut on Saturday, June 4, at the Shreveport Farmers’ Market under the leadership of Sione Maumalanga. If Sione’s name sounds familiar to you, he’s probably served AND sung to you Jimmy’s at Margaritaville or another fine dining establishment in the SBC.

Don’t worry! Sione will still be at Jimmy’s but he decided the time was right for him to pursue his passion of owning a business. This was not an overnight idea. It was actually many years in the making with the help of mentor Chef Frederick Ngo.

“I never took any business class. I just knew I loved cooking” said Maumalanga.

Family member and owner of Well Fed LA, Lindi Martin provided the idea to debut at the farmers’ market because of her experience there.

Now we all get to feast upon Sione’s creations. Thanks Chef Fred and Lindsi!

Like the name says, Ono’s will have traditional Hawaiian food including Kahuku Garlic Shrimp,  SPAM Katsu, Kalua Pork, Hawaiian coffee and even Dole Whip! Yummoooooo!!

Y’all! Trust me when I say you NEED this in your life.  I personally am glad to see a different type of food truck in the area. I’m also excited to enjoy some singing and dancing from the team.
