October Festivals in Shreveport

Fall is officially here and it is already a tad chilly!

Fall + Chilly + The Smell of Corndogs in the air= FANTASTIC October Festivals

Here’s my list of festivals in the Shreveport-Bossier area (and a few further out) that are worth checking out:
red river revel

Red River Revel Arts Festival

Art, Music, Food, Fun and adventure in downtown Shreveport. The Red River Revel is celebrating 40 years in our community!

WHEN: Saturday, October 3-Saturday, October 10
HOURS: 11am-9pm Sunday-Wednesday, 11am-10pm Thursday-Saturday
WHERE: Festival Plaza Downtown, 101 Crockett St
ADMISSION: FREE- All Day Monday, Tuesday-Friday until 5:30pm, Every day Military with ID and Children 12-Under. $5 Admission Saturday & Sunday, Tuesday-Friday After 5:30pm. $10 8-Day Reveler Pass.

10am-11pm Friday-Saturday

Didn’t get tickets for Shreveport’s Brew? Don’t worry! ARToberFest is here for the beer lovers. Area home brewers compete for the best brew, live music, food trucks and fun raffles! Money raised will benefit North Central Louisiana Arts Council.

WHERE: Norton Building, 207 W Mississippi Ave, Ruston
ADMISSION: $20-$30





Introducing Funktoberfest: A NEW outdoor music festival and home brewers competition in Louisiana. Money raised will benefit Tipitina’s.

WHEN: Saturday, October 24
WHERE: Spirits Food & Friends,1200 Texas Ave, Alexandria
ADMISSION: $10-$50



zombie walk

Shreveport Zombie Walk 2015

The Shreveport DDA, SPAR, and Food Bank of NW Louisiana are teaming up to bring you the RETURN OF THE SHREVEPORT ZOMBIE WALK! The Zombie Walk will run from 4 pm until 6 pm during Halloween festivities in the Red River District (1-10 pm). The event is open to all ages and levels of decomposition.
WHEN: Saturday, October 31
WHERE: Red River District, Under the Texas St Bridge
ADMISSION:FREE, but the event is a food-raiser so bring a non-perishable food item
