It is by the authority of Loving This Life! that I deem us all Polish, Swedish, and Russian because National Vodka Day is TODAY, October 4, 2015!
My friends at Cathead Vodka recently supplied me with some product, so I took a trip to Bear’s on Fairfield to experiment with one of my favorite bartenders in the land, Michael Chisum.
Just so that we are clear on this equation there was me, Michael, Mike my photographer extraordinaire, 3 bottles of Cathead Vodka, and a fully stocked bar. EXCELLENT TIMES!
Here are some recipes that are super easy and delicious that you can make at home. Don’t wait until National Vodka Day! Safely and responsibly enjoy these drinks any day.
1. VodCommotion (our own twist on Pecan Vodka Beer Cocktail)
2oz Cathead Pecan Vodka
1oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
Dash of Honey
Topped off with a cold Great Raft Brewing Commotion
2. Purrfect Pecan Martini
4oz Cathead Pecan Vodka
1oz Rumchata
1oz cointreau
1/2 oz chocolate syrup
Shake vodka, rumchata and cointreau in martini shaker with ice. Strain then pour in chocolate syrup coated glass that’s rimmed with chocolate syrup and crushed pecans.

Yum! Where can we find this vodka in the Shreveport Bossier area?
Hi Jacqui! Cathead can be purchased by the bottle at Cuban Liquor in Shreveport and Cellar Spirits in Bossier. Bars that have it stocked are Wine Country, Zocolo, Frank’s Pizzeria and Abby Singers has the seasonal pumpkin spice.
