Biscotti’s – Sandwich Heaven in Shreveport

I’m such a fan of good lunch spots and Biscotti’s is a REALLY good lunch spot. I’ve held off on writing this post for months now. At times I get really selfish about places and don’t want to tell you all about them. I figured since Biscotti’s has been around for a bagazillion years so it’s okay if I tell you about this. Some of you are already familiar with the magic that is happening here, but I’ve come to realize that some of you are not.

A few months ago, my friend Cordara and I decided to hit up Biscotti’s because he had never been there before. That fact alone isn’t uncommon even though the restaurant has been open for FOREVER. People either don’t know the restaurant is there or they assume it’s a place for the “Ladies Who Lunch” crowd because it’s in Lewis’ Gifts. You know those. They are the “retired, spend their day lunching about town” ladies or they are the “my husband makes so much money so since I don’t work, I’ll spend my day lunching and shopping” ladies. Yes, I’ve totally just judged them and to be honest, I’m secretly hating because I don’t have a husband that makes so much money that I can lunch and shop around town all day but I digress. Back to what I was saying. It doesn’t shock me that people haven’t heard of Biscotti’s.

Sandwich heaven is what I like to call them. I know there have been multiple claims of who has the best sandwiches in the area, but I’ll go on a limb and say that Biscotti’s has some of the best in the land. I’ve been there countless times, but I’ve only had two sandwiches. Yes, I’m aware that Biscotti’s has a full menu. Yes I’m aware that they even cater events. I haven’t eaten through their menu and I haven’t been to a catered event there. I’ll say it again. I’ve gone there over 30 times and I’ve had SAMMICHES. I should clarify even more so about my sandwich experience at Biscotti’s. I’ve never had any of their deli sandwiches. I’ve only had the Panini sandwiches.

On this day of our visit, I actually looked at the menu and we decided to try out the fried avocado wedges appetizer along with an obligatory Cuban and a Turkey & Brie sandwich.biscotti's avocado full

As a lover of avocado, I had high hopes for the appetizer, but sadly I was let down. The avocado looked great but unfortunately it was under seasoned. Being served with a basil & lemon mayo helped slightly but I wasn’t won over. Thank God for the sammiches! The sammiches NEVER let me down!

On cue, our server brought out our ooey, gooey, crunchy, tender, delicious sandwiches just for us. The Panini sandwiches are served with a gherkin and plain Sun Chips.

Thank you Jesus for this meal that we had! You are worthy to be praised! HALLELUJAH! AMEN!

Have you been to Biscotti’s before?

This place looks amazing. I love reading your blog. I might end up in Shreveport and I was looking an FGBC church when I came across your blog. I am at a FGBC church in the OK/West TX/NM/CO region. I am really enjoying reading you entrees about all the different places in Shreveport. I am interested in trying out this place.
