Bon Temps Coffee Bar Now Serving Food

This Monday morning has already brought some pretty interesting news to the Shreveport-Bossier food scene. Local favorite, Bon Temps Coffee Bar announced they are now serving food. Owner Marcus Mitchell had had plans of offering food from the very beginning. I remember talking to him before the coffee bar opening and he kept mentioning there would be a secret food item. After some years, remodeling and a few battles with the city, Bon Temps Coffee Bar will finally serve waffles. All things waffles. Every waffle. Waffle. Waffle. Waffles!

Employees Shantavious Mitchell and Dezerra Wesley “are the masterminds” behind the waffle creations according to Marcus. They developed the recipes and came up with some dishes that I personally can’t wait to try.

1. Wafflewiches $5: Breakfast sandwiches that use waffles instead of biscuits and sliced bread.
2. Stuffed Waffles $4: Meat, egg, and cheese baked right into the waffle which Marcus says makes for a perfect on-the-go meal. You can Rip it, dip it in syrup, and go. There’s no need for flatware.
3. Breakfast Plate $6.50: A waffle, 2 eggs, and a choice of meat (pork sausage, pork bacon, turkey sausage, turkey bacon).
4. Dessert Waffles $3.50: Cinnamon roll, red velvet, or brownie.

Why waffles? “We want to become the local home of the waffle” said Marcus.

I’m not sure about anyone else but I am starving now. Bon Temps Coffee Bar is open Monday-Wednesday 7:30 am-9:00pm, Thursday 7:30 am-10:30 pm, Friday-Saturday 7:30 am-12 am, Sunday 7:30 am-6:00 pm and waffles will be available from 7:30 am-5:30 pm! Go get you some and bring me some too!
